Karnataka BJP president name is final
Karnataka BJP president: B. Y. Vijayendra is currently the President of the Karnataka BJP, there has been significant internal dissent and speculation about a potential leadership change. Karnataka BJP president name is final.
Union Minister of State (MoS) in the Ministry of Railways and Ministry of Jal Shakti V. Somanna’s name has indeed been prominently mentioned as a potential candidate for the next Karnataka BJP President.

The central leadership of the BJP is reportedly deliberating on whether to retain B.Y. Vijayendra or replace him. Dissent from senior leaders within the state unit has been reported, with some expressing unhappiness about the current leadership and the party’s performance in the recent Lok Sabha polls under his watch.
V. Somanna, who is currently serving as a Union Minister of State (MoS) in the Ministry of Railways and Ministry of Jal Shakti after winning the Tumkur Lok Sabha seat in 2024, has been identified as a strong contender. He is seen as an experienced administrator with broad acceptance across various factions.

It’s worth noting that V. Somanna’s name has surfaced before for this position. However, some earlier reports (around late June/early July 2025) indicated that the central leadership had advised him to focus on his responsibilities at the Centre, effectively ruling him out of the immediate race at that time.
The decision is complicated by the need to balance various factions and community representations, particularly the Lingayat community which is a strong support base for the BJP in Karnataka. B.S. Yediyurappa’s influence and his son B.Y. Vijayendra’s position are central to these discussions.
Besides V. Somanna, other names like former CM Basavaraj Bommai, Arvind Bellad, Jagadish Shettar, and Murugesh Nirani have also been mentioned as possibilities.

While V. Somanna is a strong and respected figure within the BJP and his name is actively being considered and discussed as a potential successor, no final decision has been announced yet by the BJP high command. The internal discussions are ongoing, and the party is treading carefully to manage the internal dynamics and dissent.
