T. Narasipura Ganesh Procession: FIR Filled against Former MP Pratap Simha
According to the police, the accused allegedly made speeches that promoted enmity between different communities and castes and insulted religious beliefs during the procession.
An FIR has been registered at the T. Narasipura Police Station against former MP Pratap Simha and several others over allegations of delivering provocative speeches during a recent Ganesh Shobha Yatra in T. Narasipura town.
According to the police, the accused allegedly made speeches that promoted enmity between different communities and castes and insulted religious beliefs during the procession. Based on these allegations, a criminal case has been registered, and an investigation is underway.
Case Registered Under Multiple BNS Sections:
The FIR has been filed under various provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Sections 132, 191, 194, 196(1)(a)(b), 299, 353(1)(b)(c), and 190. Police have launched an investigation into the matter.
The controversy stems from a warning allegedly issued by T. Narasipura Police Inspector Dhananjay to the Ganesh procession organisers, cautioning them against bursting firecrackers in front of a mosque. He reportedly warned that strict action would be taken if the instruction was violated.
Accepting the challenge, members of the Hindu Jagarana Vedike continued their campaign and eventually organised a large Ganesh procession through the town. The procession passed along the road in front of the mosque, where participants allegedly burst firecrackers and celebrated. A large number of Hindu activists took part in the procession.
Police are continuing their investigation into the speeches delivered during the event and the incidents that took place during the procession.
