New Delhi: Bharat Gas, one of India’s leading public sector oil marketing companies under the Central Government, has introduced a customer-friendly initiative aimed at reducing the financial burden on LPG consumers. The new scheme is expected to provide significant relief to low- and middle-income households, particularly homemakers, who have been struggling with the rising cost of living.
Under the newly announced facility, customers will now be able to purchase an LPG refill even if they do not have the full amount available at the time of booking. Bharat Gas will offer an interest-free credit of up to Rs 600 to eligible customers, enabling them to obtain their LPG cylinder without making the full payment upfront.
One of the biggest highlights of the scheme is that no interest or additional charges will be levied on the credit amount. The company says the initiative is designed to ensure that families do not have to postpone purchasing an LPG cylinder due to temporary financial constraints.
The repayment process has also been kept simple and affordable. Instead of repaying the entire amount at once, customers can repay the Rs 600 credit in six weekly instalments of Rs 100 each. This flexible repayment model is intended to ease the financial burden while ensuring uninterrupted access to cooking gas.
Bharat Gas believes the new digital credit facility will make LPG refills more accessible and affordable, especially for economically vulnerable households, and could bring a significant change to India’s LPG distribution ecosystem by offering greater financial flexibility to consumers.
