Karnataka Congress MLA Yashwanthraygoud Patil resigns

Karnataka Congress MLA Yashwanthrayagowda Patil, representing the Indi Assembly constituency, has once again resigned from his position. Patil, who was earlier dissatisfied after being denied a ministerial berth in Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar’s new cabinet, had initially submitted his resignation but later withdrew it following intervention and assurances from the party leadership.

During the cabinet expansion, Patil’s name was left out of the list of ministers, prompting him to resign in protest. However, senior Congress leaders, including D.K. Shivakumar, personally intervened and persuaded him to reconsider. Following assurances from the party high command regarding his concerns and future role, Patil withdrew his resignation.

Patil has now submitted his resignation once again, citing the Karnataka government’s decision to include Indi and the newly created Chadachan taluk in the list of drought-affected regions. He also alleged that his constituency has been subjected to continuous neglect and injustice.

Expressing strong dissatisfaction, Patil said that despite being a senior legislator, he has not received the recognition, importance, or responsibility he deserves within the party and the government. Protesting what he described as repeated injustice to his constituency and lack of political respect, he has decided to resign from his post as MLA once again.
