This decision was made by the BEO, prioritizing the safety of students amid worsening weather conditions.

IMD issued heavy rainfall alert on these places:

Coastal Karnataka: Isolated places over Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Uttara Kannada districts are likely to experience extremely heavy rain with sustained winds of 30-40 kmph. A few other places in Coastal Karnataka will also see very heavy rain.

South Interior Karnataka: Shivamogga and Chikkamagaluru districts are expected to receive heavy to very heavy rain with sustained winds of 50-60 kmph at one or two places. Davanagere and Mysuru districts are likely to have heavy rain with sustained winds of 40-50 kmph.

Bengaluru (Rural & Urban), Chamarajanagara, Chikkaballapura, Chitradurga, Kolar, Mandya, Ramanagara, Tumakuru, and Vijayanagara districts are forecast to receive light to moderate rain with sustained winds of 40-50 kmph.

North Interior Karnataka: Belagavi and Dharwad districts are likely to experience heavy rain with sustained winds of 40-50 kmph. Many places over Bagalkot, Bidar, Gadag, Haveri, Kalburgi, Koppal, Raichur, Vijayapura, and Yadgir districts.
