India Pakistan War: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday morning visited the Adampur air base in Punjab amid chants of “Vande Mataram’ and ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’.
His visit comes a day after his first address to the nation after Operation Sindoor, in which he delivered a clear and tough message to Pakistan.

Meanwhile, ceasefire conditions remained intact on Tuesday night in Jammu and Kashmir and other border towns including Punjab and Rajasthan.

Addressing the nation on Monday night, Prime Minister Modi said India has stopped, not ended, retaliation against terrorists and military bases in Islamabad. He warned Pakistan that India would not tolerate any ‘nuclear threat’, saying operations against Islamabad had been suspended and the future depended on their behaviour.

Meanwhile, the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of India and Pakistan spoke to each other on the hotline for about 30 minutes around 5 pm on Monday. They discussed upholding the understanding reached on May 10 to cease all military actions against each other.

The military said they discussed continuing the commitment by both sides to “not fire a single shot” or take any aggressive or hostile action against each other. India and Pakistan have agreed to immediately cease all military operations against each other across land, air and sea, on Saturday, May 10.

The ceasefire comes after four days of intense cross-border fighting following India’s Operation Sindoor against terror infrastructure in Pakistan.

In response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 people, most of them civilians, Operation Sindoor was launched on May 7 to destroy targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
