Tatkal Train Ticket : Tatkal Ticket Booking is a premium quota designed to book tickets for the last minute journey in the Indian Railway. Tatkal Train Tickets Booking has been implemented to book train tickets for immediate travel.
The Indian Railway is now set to implement a major change in the Tatkal ticket booking system from May 25. This change is aimed at increasing transparency, reducing misuse and improving the possibility of real passengers getting reserved seats.

What will change from May 25?
Revised booking times for different classes
Improved verification for users who book multiple tickets
New Refund Terms for Tatkal Tickets on Waiting List
Revised quota delivery for better availability
New Tatkal Booking Time:
AC Class (1A, 2A, 3A, CC): 10 in the morning, a day before the journey
Non AC Class (SL, 2s): 11 am, a day before the journey
Premium Tatkal: 6pm, a day before travel
And the booking ends one hour before the train leaves.
Note: This time only apply to online bookings through IRCTC and official agents.

Changes in the process of booking:
Some changes have been implemented to prevent misuse and speed up the booking process.
Aadhaar-checked: Aadhaar-Linked Mobile Number is mandatory for booking more than 2 tickets per month.
Ticket Booking Limit: Every user is allowed a maximum of 6 tatkal tickets per month.
Mandatory OTP Login: Each booking requires a new OTP verification.
This new rule aims to make sure that only real travelers can book Tatkal tickets. The Indian Railway has also introduced the AI monitoring system to restrict suspicious accounts, booking from a single IP address, to locate bot and high-frequency logins.
Tatkal Ticket is a new re -payment rule:
Usually after the Tatkal ticket is booked, it will not be repaid. This means that after booking a conformed Tatkal ticket, there is no room for re -payment. According to the railway rules during the Waitlist or Emergency, the full re -payment is allowed. The railway canceled ticket is available for full re -payment, including Tatkal fees.
Tatkal ticket quota re -sharing:
Superfast Express -15% seats
Mail/Express Trains -18% seats
Jana Shatabdi/ Intercity -10% seat
Premium train (capital) -12%
