States with Heavy Rainfall Alerts and Red Alerts:
Odisha: Extremely heavy rainfall is expected in districts like Balasore, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, and Keonjhar. A red warning has been issued for Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar districts until Saturday (July 26), and rainfall activities are expected to persist across the state until July 30.

Other districts like Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, and Sundargarh are under orange warning, and several others under yellow warning.
Kerala: A “Cyclone Wipha” alert has been raised. Red alerts were issued for several districts (e.g., Kasaragod, Kannur, Kozhikode, Wayanad previously, and Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad for July 26), with orange and yellow alerts for many others across the state until July 29. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is predicted.
Karnataka: Heavy to very heavy rain is likely in Coastal Karnataka (Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada), North Interior Karnataka (Belagavi, Bidar, Kalburgi), and South Interior Karnataka (Chikkamagaluru, Shivamogga, Hassan, Kodagu) over the next few days. Red alerts have been issued for districts like Udupi, Kodagu, and Dakshina Kannada.
Maharashtra: Districts like Palghar, Thane, Mumbai, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalgaon, Nashik, and Ahmednagar are under heavy to very heavy rainfall alerts, with isolated extremely heavy rainfall possible in some areas (Ghats of Nashik, Palghar, Raigad). These warnings extend for the next few days.

Andhra Pradesh: Heavy rainfall is forecast for parts of north coastal Andhra Pradesh (NCAP) and Yanam, with thunderstorms and lightning over south coastal Andhra Pradesh (SCAP) and Rayalaseema for the next three days. Orange warnings are in place for Srikakulam, Parvathipuram Manyam, and Alluri Sitarama Raju (ASR) districts for July 25-26, and for Vizianagaram and Anakapalle districts on July 26.
West Bengal: Extremely heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Gangetic West Bengal, particularly on July 25th.
Jharkhand: Extremely heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated places over Jharkhand on July 25th.
Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh: Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to continue over these regions during July 25-30.
Goa: The red alert for Goa has been downgraded to an orange alert, with very heavy rainfall likely at isolated places and heavy rainfall across many areas. A yellow alert remains until July 30.
Bihar: Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely on July 25, and isolated heavy rainfall is expected from July 25-30.
Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim: Isolated heavy rainfall is likely from July 25-28.
Tamil Nadu: Isolated heavy rainfall is likely on July 26.
School Holidays Announced:
Odisha: The Mayurbhanj administration announced the closure of all schools on Saturday (July 26) due to the red warning.
Kerala: School holidays have been announced in several districts, particularly those under red alert (Kasaragod, Kannur, Wayanad, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad for July 26). Local district collectors have the authority to announce further closures.
Karnataka: Schools, colleges, and anganwadis in Dakshina Kannada district are closed on July 25. Similar closures have been reported in Udupi and Kodagu districts.
