BJP get clear majority in Karnataka: Report out
BJP get clear majority: A survey report conducted by Hyderabad-based ‘People’s Pulse Organization’ and ‘Codemo Technologies’ has said that if the assembly elections are held in Karnataka under the current circumstances, the BJP will come to power with an absolute majority.
The survey was conducted between April 15 and May 18. 10,481 people participated in it. Out of these, the BJP is expected to win 136-159 seats and take power in Karnataka with a full majority for the first time.

Congress will come in second and JDS will come in third. However, most of the respondents in the survey said that Siddaramaiah is the best candidate for the post of Chief Minister. The ruling Congress party is expected to win 62-82 seats, a lower share than the vote share it won in 2023.
While the Congress vote share was 42.88 percent in 2023, the survey predicts it will now be 40.3 percent. This indicates that the Congress party is facing a significant anti-incumbency wave, the survey said. The survey said that JDS is likely to win only 3-6 seats, and its vote share will decrease by 5 percent (from 18.3 percent in 2023).
The survey revealed that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah remains the most popular Chief Minister across all parties. While 29.2 percent of the respondents expressed their preference for Siddaramaiah, 10.7 percent expressed their opinion in favor of Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar.

Former Chief Ministers BS Yediyurappa has 5.5 percent support, Basavaraj Bommai has 3.6 percent support, and BJP state president BY Vijayendra has 5.2 percent support. Although no one from the BJP crossed the double-digit mark on this issue, 16.9 percent of people felt that ‘any BJP candidate for the Chief Minister’s post is OK’.
It is true that the BJP has played a major role in Karnataka politics for the last 20 years. It is also true that it emerged as the single largest party three times (2004, 2008, 2018). However, it has never been able to cross the magic number of 113 seats (simple majority) out of a total of 224 seats to gain power. However, this time the survey has given a hint that the BJP will get a clear majority.
