1.Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY): This new employment scheme, with an outlay of Rs 1 lakh crore, is aimed at boosting job creation for the youth. The scheme, which is effective immediately, has two main components:
For first-time employees: Young people who get their first private-sector job will receive a direct financial incentive of up to Rs 15,000 from the government. This will be disbursed in two installments, after six and twelve months of service.
For employers: Companies that create new jobs will receive financial incentives of up to Rs 3,000 per month for each new employee for two years. For the manufacturing sector, this incentive will be extended to a third and fourth year. The goal is to create 3.5 crore new jobs over two years.
2. Next-Generation GST Reforms: The Prime Minister announced that the government will be implementing “next-generation GST reforms” by Diwali. These reforms are intended to simplify the tax structure, reduce the tax burden on citizens, and lower taxes on essential goods.
3. Mission Samudra Manthan: This is a new National Deep Water Exploration Mission to explore for oil and gas reserves in the ocean. The initiative will operate in a “mission mode” to advance underwater engineering and ocean research, with the goal of achieving energy independence for India.
4. High-Powered Demography Mission: PM Modi announced the creation of this new mission to address the challenge of demographic change due to infiltration in some regions. The mission is designed to systematically and promptly address these threats to national security.
5. Mission Sudarshan Chakra: The Prime Minister spoke about a new defense initiative called “Mission Sudarshan Chakra,” which aims to create a powerful indigenous weapon system to counter enemy attacks and a nationwide security shield that will be expanded and modernized by 2035.
