IMD Issued heavy rainfall alert: The weather has changed again across the country. While on one hand, heatwaves are increasing the hardships of the people, on the other hand, warnings of heavy rain and hailstorms in 23 states have increased concerns.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings to several states. The effects of the Western Disturbance are recurring in the northwestern and northeastern parts of the country. Heavy rain, lightning and thundershowers are likely to occur over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on April 25-26.

Due to the cyclonic circulation over Bangladesh and Assam and the trough formed from Chhattisgarh to Gulf of Mannar, the states of North East India like Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal, Tripura, Mizoram, Nagaland will receive rain for 7 days. And strong winds will be experienced, which can reach speeds of 60 km/h.

Heavy rains accompanied by thundershowers and strong winds will continue over Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Puducherry. A warning of heavy rain has been issued for Tamil Nadu on April 24. Thunderstorms, hailstorms and rain are likely to occur in Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal and Chhattisgarh from April 26 to 29.

Sikkim will experience heavy rains on April 26-27. According to IMD, heat wave conditions continue in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Bihar. Temperatures are likely to reach 45 degrees in these areas from April 25 to 30. In Brahmapuri, Maharashtra, the temperature reached 45.6 degrees Celsius on Thursday.

At the same time, temperatures between 40-45 degrees were recorded in Gujarat, Rajasthan, eastern Uttar Pradesh, Odisha and Chhattisgarh. The weather in Delhi-NCR will be clear on April 25 but cloudy on April 26-27 with winds gusting up to 30 kmph. Also, there is a possibility of a heat wave.

Temperatures will increase by 2-3 degrees in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Rajasthan. Temperatures will remain stable in East India but may decrease in UP after 3 days.
