Historic BJP-NDA Victory in Thiruvananthapuram: PM Modi Thanks Citizens
New Delhi: In a landmark political shift in Kerala, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has won the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation elections, ending 45 years of left-wing rule in the city. Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his gratitude to the people of Thiruvananthapuram, calling the mandate a decisive moment in Kerala’s political landscape.
In a post on X, PM Modi stated, “Thank you, Thiruvananthapuram! The mandate received by BJP-NDA in the Corporation elections is a historic and decisive moment in Kerala’s politics. The citizens are confident that only our party can fulfill the state’s development aspirations. I assure the people that our party will work tirelessly for the growth of your city.”
He further appreciated the efforts of BJP workers, acknowledging their dedication in securing the victory. “My gratitude to all the hardworking BJP workers who contributed to this remarkable result in Thiruvananthapuram Corporation. Today is a day to remember the efforts and struggles of the generations of Kerala party workers. Our workers are our strength, and we are proud of them!” Modi wrote.
The BJP-NDA’s win in the local body elections reflects a growing discontent among the electorate with Kerala’s traditional ruling fronts—the United Democratic Front (UDF) and the Left Democratic Front (LDF). PM Modi noted that voters across the state are now viewing the NDA as the only option capable of delivering good governance and building a developed Kerala.
He said, “My heartfelt thanks to the people of Kerala who voted for BJP and NDA candidates in the local body elections. The citizens have grown frustrated with the UDF and LDF and see NDA as the sole choice to ensure better governance and a prosperous Kerala.”
This unprecedented victory marks a significant milestone for the BJP in Kerala, demonstrating its increasing foothold in a state historically dominated by left-leaning parties. Observers say this development could reshape the political dynamics in Kerala ahead of upcoming state and national elections, with the NDA positioning itself as a credible alternative to the entrenched fronts.
The Thiruvananthapuram Corporation elections now stand as a historic turning point, signaling potential changes in voter preferences and the rise of the BJP-NDA in southern India.
