The newly launched Realme 16 5G is making a strong impact in the Indian smartphone market, with the company reporting a remarkable 150 percent increase in early sales compared to its predecessor. The surge highlights growing consumer interest in its upgraded features and refreshed design approach.
According to the company, the device was introduced in India on April 2, with its first sale beginning on April 6. Since then, demand has remained consistently strong across both online and offline channels, indicating that the smartphone has quickly gained attention among buyers looking for performance oriented devices.
One of the biggest highlights of the phone is its camera system. It comes with a dual 50 megapixel setup featuring a Sony IMX852 primary sensor along with a high resolution front camera. Additional imaging features such as Aura Ring Flash and a rear selfie mirror further enhance its photography experience, especially for content creators and social media users.
Performance and software features also play a major role in its appeal. The device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 Turbo chipset, paired with realme UI 7.0 based on the latest Android platform. The phone also introduces several AI driven tools including gesture based controls, smart editing features and voice assisted photography enhancements designed to simplify user experience.
On the display front, the smartphone features a 6.5 inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness reaching up to 4200 nits. This combination ensures smooth visuals and strong outdoor visibility, making it suitable for gaming, streaming and daily use.
