Three affordable 5G smartphones from Realme, Redmi and Ai Plus compete in the budget segment under 15000 rupees offering large batteries, fast displays, and competitive cameras for entry level users

The budget smartphone segment in India has become more competitive than ever, especially in the sub 15000 category where brands are constantly trying to offer better features at lower prices. Realme, Xiaomi and Ai Plus have recently introduced new models that aim to attract value focused buyers looking for 5G connectivity without spending too much. The Realme Narzo 100 Lite 5G, Redmi A7 Pro 5G and Ai Plus Pulse 2 are three such devices currently gaining attention in this segment.

Starting with pricing, the Ai Plus Pulse 2 is the most affordable option with a starting price of 7999 rupees. The Redmi A7 Pro 5G comes next at 11499 rupees, while the Realme Narzo 100 Lite 5G is priced higher at 13999 rupees. Each phone targets slightly different users depending on performance needs, camera focus and battery expectations.

In terms of display experience, the Realme Narzo 100 Lite 5G offers a 6.8 inch LCD screen with a 144Hz refresh rate, making it the smoothest among the three. The Redmi A7 Pro 5G features a slightly larger 6.9 inch HD plus LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate, while the Ai Plus Pulse 2 comes with a 6.75 inch display also supporting 120Hz refresh rate. While all three offer fluid scrolling, Realme clearly pushes higher refresh performance.

Performance is another key difference in this comparison. The Realme Narzo 100 Lite 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, designed for balanced 5G performance. The Redmi A7 Pro 5G uses the Unisoc T8300 built on a 6nm process with up to 8GB RAM support, offering better multitasking capability. The Ai Plus Pulse 2 runs on the Unisoc T7250 chipset paired with up to 6GB RAM, making it the most basic performer of the trio.

Camera setups also show clear variation between these phones. The Redmi A7 Pro 5G features a 32MP AI dual camera system along with an 8MP front camera. The Ai Plus Pulse 2 goes a step further with a 50MP AI dual rear camera and an 8MP selfie shooter. Meanwhile, the Realme Narzo 100 Lite 5G comes with a simpler 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera, focusing more on battery and performance rather than photography.

Battery life is where Realme takes a strong lead. The Narzo 100 Lite 5G packs a massive 7000mAh battery, the largest in this comparison. The Redmi A7 Pro 5G follows with a 6300mAh battery supporting 15W fast charging, while the Ai Plus Pulse 2 offers a 6000mAh battery with 18W charging support. For heavy users, Realme clearly stands out in endurance.

All three smartphones run on Android 16, giving users the latest software experience in this budget category. Overall, each device has its own strengths depending on user preference. Realme focuses on battery and smooth display, Redmi balances performance and camera, while Ai Plus aims to deliver maximum value at the lowest price point.
