Gold prices have risen by about 30 percent year-on-year, gaining a CAGR of about 15 percent since 2001. Since 1995, gold has outpaced inflation by more than 2-4 per cent, data showed. Meanwhile, silver prices crossed the Rs 1 lakh per kg mark last week.
Despite price fluctuations, gold and silver continue to serve as safe haven commodities for investors aiming to preserve their capital. he MCX gold index was at Rs 97,051 per 10 grams at 6:25 am on June 9, the official website said. Meanwhile, it showed that the MCX silver price was at Rs 1,05,525 per kilogram.
According to Indian Bullion Association (IBA) data at 6:25 am on June 9, the price of 24-carat gold was Rs 97,160/10 grams, while the price of 22-carat gold was Rs 89,063/10 grams. According to the IBA website, today’s silver prices are Rs 1,05,910 per kg (silver 999 fine).
