Unauthorized Outsiders Allegedly Handling Official Work at Bagalkot City Municipal Office

Questions have emerged after outsiders were allegedly found performing official municipal office tasks in Bagalkot raising concerns over accountability data security administrative transparency and government workplace discipline standards.

A fresh controversy has surfaced at the Bagalkot City Municipal Council after allegations emerged that individuals with no official connection to the civic body were carrying out office work inside municipal premises. The incident has raised serious concerns over administrative accountability, data security and adherence to government procedures.

According to the allegations, outsiders were seen working from within the municipal office using laptops to prepare tax challans, maintain revenue related records and carry out data entry tasks linked to tax collection. The development has triggered criticism from residents who questioned how people who are neither permanent employees nor contractual staff were allowed to access official workspaces.

The issue came to light while attention was already focused on other instances of alleged administrative lapses in the district. As public scrutiny over government functioning continues to grow, this latest incident has intensified demands for stricter monitoring of official responsibilities and workplace protocols.

Reports suggest that a bill collector identified as Balappa Nidasosi allegedly assigned parts of his official responsibilities to private individuals instead of handling them personally. The allegations have sparked debate over whether sensitive municipal work should ever be performed by people who have not been formally appointed by the civic administration.

The presence of unauthorized individuals inside government offices has also raised questions about the safety of official records and confidential public information. Citizens have expressed concern over whether proper verification and supervision were followed before allowing such access within the municipal office.

Responding to the controversy, Municipal Commissioner R Vasanna said he was unaware of the arrangement and clarified that no permission had been granted for such a practice. He stated that assigning official duties to outsiders was against established procedures and assured that the matter would be investigated.

The commissioner further announced that a notice would be issued to the concerned official. He also said unauthorized individuals would be removed from the municipal office and appropriate disciplinary action would be initiated after examining the facts of the case.

The incident has once again highlighted the importance of maintaining transparency and accountability within government institutions. Residents and civic observers have urged authorities to strengthen internal supervision so that official responsibilities remain in the hands of authorized employees and public trust in government offices is preserved.
