Karnataka Weather Forecast Predicts Heavy Monsoon Rain with Orange Alert for Eight Districts
Heavy monsoon rain is expected across Karnataka over the next few days with orange alerts in eight districts strong winds widespread showers and safety advisories for residents.
Bengaluru, July 6: The southwest monsoon has intensified across Karnataka, with the weather department forecasting widespread rainfall over the coming days. Coastal, Malnad and several interior districts are likely to experience heavy showers accompanied by strong winds, prompting authorities to urge people to remain cautious.
An orange alert has been issued for eight districts where the possibility of intense rainfall is high. Coastal districts including Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada are expected to receive heavy rain along with winds reaching speeds of 40 to 50 kilometres per hour. Residents have been advised to stay alert as adverse weather conditions may affect normal life.
The Malnad region is also likely to witness significant rainfall. Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan and Kodagu have been placed under an orange alert due to the forecast of heavy showers in several locations. Officials have cautioned that continuous rain and gusty winds could lead to localized disruptions.
In North Interior Karnataka, Belagavi is under an orange alert as heavy rainfall is expected in parts of the district. Dharwad, Gadag and Haveri have been placed under a yellow alert, with forecasts indicating scattered heavy showers and strong winds. Other districts including Bagalkot, Bidar, Kalaburagi, Koppal, Raichur, Vijayapura and Yadgir are expected to receive light to moderate rainfall over the next few days.
Rainfall is also likely to continue across South Interior Karnataka. Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, Ballari, Chamarajanagar, Chikkaballapur, Chitradurga, Davanagere, Kolar, Mandya, Mysuru, Ramanagara, Tumakuru and Vijayanagara are expected to receive light to moderate showers accompanied by steady winds.
The weather department has advised the public to remain cautious, especially in areas vulnerable to waterlogging, falling trees and strong winds. People travelling through hilly and coastal regions have also been urged to monitor local weather updates and follow instructions issued by district authorities until conditions improve.
