India Hits Back After Pakistan Defence Minister Criticizes Prime Minister Modi Award

India strongly rejected remarks made by Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Prime Minister Narendra Modi receiving an international honour calling his comments irresponsible and without credibility.

New Delhi: India has strongly responded to comments made by Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Asif regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi receiving an international award, describing his remarks as baseless and irresponsible.

The exchange follows the recent honour conferred on Prime Minister Narendra Modi by the Republic of Seychelles. Khawaja Asif questioned the recognition and reportedly claimed that the award had been created for publicity. He also referred to reports highlighting spelling errors in the award citation and described the episode as an embarrassment.

Reacting to the criticism, Indian government sources dismissed the Pakistani minister’s statements, saying they reflected a lack of seriousness and credibility. The sources alleged that Asif frequently makes irresponsible remarks instead of focusing on important national issues.

According to the response from Indian officials, the appointment of a person making such statements as Pakistan’s Defence Minister reflects poorly on the country’s leadership. The sources further stated that the remarks were politically motivated and did not deserve attention.

The latest exchange adds to the continuing war of words between India and Pakistan, with both sides frequently responding sharply to each other’s statements on political and diplomatic matters.
