IMD issued heavy rainfall: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall across Karnataka from April 2, with a yellow alert issued for several districts. IMD issued heavy rainfall alert in Karnataka from April 2.
The India Meteorological Department has warned that there is a possibility of heavy rain, thunderstorms and strong winds in Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Belgaum, Dharwad, Gadag, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Kodagu and Mysore districts.

Scattered rains have been falling in various parts of the state for the past week. Meanwhile, moderate rainfall is expected in Vijayanagar, Shivamogga, Tumkur, Mandya, Kolar, Davangere, Chitradurga, Bengaluru Rural, Bengaluru City, Yadgir, Vijayapura, Raichur, Koppal, Kalaburagi and Bidar.
Karnataka Weather Update April 1 and 2: Cloudy weather is expected across the state, with thunder, lightning and gusty winds gusting to 40-50 kmph. Scattered moderate rains are likely over North Interior Karnataka and coastal districts.
March 31 – April 2: Scattered moderate rainfall is expected over southern interior Karnataka, with isolated heavy rainfall possible at some places. Dry weather is likely in the coming days.

Hailstorm Warning: “Hailstorm warning has been issued for Mysore, Kodagu, Hassan and Chikmagalur on April 1 and 2, while hailstorm is likely to occur in all districts of coastal Karnataka, Belgaum, Dharwad, Gadag and Haveri on April 2,” the IMD said in its latest bulletin.
Bengaluru Weather: As of March 30, 2025, the highest temperature of the year was recorded in Bengaluru on February 17, when the mercury soared to 35.9 degrees Celsius, making it the hottest day of the season so far.
This was significantly higher than Delhi’s 27 degrees Celsius on the same day, highlighting an unusual weather pattern for the city.
