Renukaswamy Murder Case: Following the Supreme Court’s decision to cancel the bail of actor Darshan and others in the Renukaswamy murder case, the victim’s family has expressed a sense of relief and renewed faith in the judicial system. Renukaswamy’s father, Shivanagouda, told reporters that the Supreme Court’s order has strengthened his trust in the government, the judiciary, and the police. “Our aim is to see that the criminal is punished. This will give peace to my son who was murdered,” he said.
He added that the cancellation of bail reinforces the belief that “the law is equal to all, be it rich, mighty or poor.” Renukaswamy’s wife, Sahana, and mother, Ratnaprabha, also welcomed the verdict. Sahana stated that the decision shows that everyone is equal before the law and those who have committed the crime should be punished.
Ratnaprabha expressed her happiness and said that the family now believes justice will be served, while also calling for a speedy trial. Shivanagouda also requested that his widowed daughter-in-law be provided a job.
The family’s statements came after the Supreme Court, on August 14, 2025, overturned the Karnataka High Court’s bail order, calling it a “perverse exercise of judicial discretion” and ordering the immediate re-arrest of the accused.
