CBSE Board Exam 2026: Class 10, 12 registrations begins, how to apply

CBSE Board Exam 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has opened the registration window for private candidates for the Class 10 and 12 Board Exams 2026. The application process began on September 9, 2025.

The registration window without a late fee is from September 9 to September 30, 2025. Candidates can still apply with a late fee from October 3 to October 11, 2025.

Application Fee: The standard application fee is Rs 320.

Late Fee: An additional late fee of Rs 2,000 will be charged for applications submitted after the initial deadline.

How to Apply: Students must apply online through the official CBSE website, cbse.gov.in.

Eligibility:

The registration is open to several categories of private candidates:

Students who were declared ‘Essentially Repeat’ in the 2025 exams.

Candidates who had a compartment in the 2025 Main or Supplementary exams.

Students who were declared Fail/Essential Repeat in previous years (2020 to 2025).

Candidates who passed in 2024-25 but wish to improve their marks in one or more subjects.

The registration process is entirely online, and candidates are advised to carefully check the eligibility criteria and enter their details accurately to avoid any issues with their results.
