Youth burnt alive after bus-bike collision near Sindagi toll gate in Vijayapura

Vijayapura, : In a shocking incident near Kannolli toll gate in Sindagi taluk of Vijayapura district, a 19-year-old youth lost his life after a bike and a bus collided head-on, triggering a massive fire on Tuesday.
The victim, identified as Abhishek Sahebagouda Nagarahalli from Sindagi, was riding his motorcycle when it reportedly crashed into a Kalyana Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (KKRTC) bus. The collision was so intense that the bike became trapped under the bus.
Soon after the crash, the bus caught fire, and the flames quickly spread, engulfing the vehicle. Abhishek, who was stuck beneath the bus following the collision, could not escape and was tragically burnt alive.
According to eyewitnesses, the fire spread within minutes, creating panic at the scene. Locals attempted to rescue the victim, but the intensity of the fire made it impossible to approach the vehicle.
Fortunately, all passengers travelling in the bus managed to escape in time, avoiding a larger tragedy. Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported among the passengers, though they were visibly shaken by the incident.
Fire brigade teams rushed to the spot and worked to bring the blaze under control. After several efforts, the fire was extinguished, but the bus was completely destroyed.
Police officials have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the accident. They are examining factors such as speed, road conditions, and driver negligence to ascertain the cause of the crash.
The incident has raised concerns about road safety in the region, especially on highways and near toll gates where traffic movement is heavy. Officials have reiterated the importance of cautious driving and adherence to traffic norms to avoid such fatal accidents.
The tragic death of the young rider has left his family and local community in deep shock and mourning.
