Terrible accident-car airbag blast..? Maks Infotech founder Mukesh Shetty is no more

Karwar: In a tragic road accident involving a bus of the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation and a car, well-known web developer Mukesh Krishna Shetty from Kundapur lost his life. Preliminary reports suggest that the car’s airbag may have burst during the collision, though officials are yet to confirm the exact cause of death.

Mukesh Krishna Shetty, 39, a native of Nempu village in Kundapur, was travelling from Kundapur to Hubballi on March 5 via Yellapur when the accident occurred. The incident took place near Malalgav in Yellapur taluk when his car reportedly collided head-on with a KSRTC bus coming from the opposite direction.

The bus, belonging to the Sirsi depot, was travelling from Siddapur to Belagavi carrying passengers attending a wedding. Following the collision, emergency services shifted Mukesh Shetty to the government hospital in Yellapur through a 108 ambulance. However, he succumbed to his injuries despite medical efforts.

Authorities suspect that the car’s airbag deployed during the accident and may have ruptured, though an official investigation is underway. The front portion of the car was completely crushed in the impact.

Interestingly, Mukesh Shetty reportedly had only minor injuries on his hands and legs, raising questions about whether the airbag malfunction contributed to the fatality.

Sources said Mukesh Shetty was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, which triggered the airbag deployment. After the crash, the airbag was found torn, leading to speculation that it may have burst due to the impact.

Mukesh Shetty was a prominent figure in the digital media and web development sector. Originally from Nempu village in Kundapur taluk, he had built his professional career in Mangaluru. He founded the technology firm Max Infotech in the Bendorewell area of the city and worked as a developer for several leading digital media platforms.

Over the years, he was involved in the development of numerous websites, mobile applications and digital marketing projects. In recent months, he had been spending more time in his hometown with plans to establish a software company in Kundapur to create employment opportunities for local youth.

Mukesh Shetty is survived by his wife, mother and two brothers. His funeral will be held on March 7 at his native house in Nempu village near Vandse in Kundapur taluk. Friends, colleagues and members of the media fraternity have expressed deep grief over his untimely demise.
