Son kills father in Yadgir, probe reveals shocking motive behind murder

Yadgir : A murder case in Yadgir district has taken a shocking turn, with police investigations revealing that a son allegedly orchestrated the killing of his father over issues linked to the latter’s personal conduct.

The deceased has been identified as Hampanna Sajjan (75), a resident of Gonal village. Police have arrested his son Narasareddy along with hired assailants Ramesh, G. Veeresh, M. Veeresh and Krishna in connection with the case. The arrests were made by personnel from Wadagera Police Station.

Initially, police suspected that the murder was linked to a property dispute, given that the victim owned nearly 42 acres of agricultural land. However, the investigation took a dramatic turn after officials examined the victim’s mobile phone.

According to police sources, several photographs and data recovered from the phone indicated that the deceased had relationships with multiple women. It is alleged that he was leading a life away from his family and often stayed in his farmland, engaging in activities that reportedly caused embarrassment and distress within the household.

Investigators further revealed that the elderly man allegedly brought women from other districts and stayed with them for extended periods. He was also said to be addicted to alcohol and spent significant money on his lifestyle. In some instances, he allegedly behaved inappropriately with women working on his land and even with family members, which reportedly aggravated tensions within the family.

Police said that Narasareddy, disturbed by his father’s behaviour and fearing social stigma, decided to eliminate him. He allegedly hired four men and paid them ₹2.5 lakh to carry out the murder.

As per the investigation, the accused son assured the assailants that he would take responsibility and protect them from legal consequences. After the crime was executed, he reportedly filed a complaint himself and even participated in the funeral, attempting to portray innocence.
