10 yr old Balloon vendor girl’s body found at Mysuru Dasara, rape and murder suspected
A disturbing incident occurred during the Mysuru Dasara festivities at the exhibition grounds, where the body of a 10-year-old girl was discovered under suspicious circumstances on Thursday. The girl, who belonged to the Hakki Pikki community from Kalaburagi, had arrived in Mysuru along with over 50 families to sell balloons at the popular event.
According to police reports, the girl was last seen sleeping beside her parents after finishing trade activities on Wednesday night. However, when the family awoke early in the morning due to rain, she was missing. A frantic search led to the discovery of her body, which was found partially unclothed and lying in a heap of mud about 50 meters from their tent.
The condition in which the body was found has raised suspicions of rape and murder, prompting the police to launch a thorough investigation. Notably, the area where the girl’s body was discovered is close to the site of a previous murder, intensifying community concerns. The Hakki Pikki families who had come for business have all been questioned by police, and a dog squad was brought to the scene to assist in the inquiry.
Authorities are also reviewing CCTV footage from surrounding areas in hopes of identifying suspects or clues. Police sources have stated that all angles are being examined, and they have reassured the public that strict action will be taken against anyone found responsible. The shocking case has cast a pall over the ongoing Dasara celebrations, with many expressing sadness and outrage over the tragedy.
