Asia Cup 2025: No place for Sanju Samson in playing XI
Asia Cup 2025: The first match will be between Afghanistan and Hong Kong on September 9, and India will begin their campaign against the UAE on September 10. The highly anticipated match between India and Pakistan is scheduled for September 14. Asia Cup 2025: No place for Sanju Samson in playing XI.
The BCCI has announced a 15-member squad for the Asia Cup 2025. The squad is led by Suryakumar Yadav with Shubman Gill as his deputy. Ajinkya Rahane has reportedly shared his opinion on the ideal playing eleven. It’s important to understand this is his personal view and not an official announcement. Based on recent reports, his suggested XI for the Asia Cup is as follows:

Ajinkya Rahane’s Proposed Playing XI for Asia Cup 2025:
Openers: Shubman Gill, Abhishek Sharma
Middle Order: Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav (Captain), Hardik Pandya
Wicketkeeper-Batter: Jitesh Sharma
All-Rounder: Axar Patel
Bowlers: Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy / Harshit Rana
Rahane’s suggestion is notable because he left out Sanju Samson, who has been a regular opener for India in T20Is recently. Rahane believes that with Shubman Gill’s return, Samson’s spot in the playing XI is at risk.
The official Indian squad for the Asia Cup 2025 has already been announced, with Suryakumar Yadav as captain and Shubman Gill as vice-captain. The squad and the final playing XI are decided by the selectors and team management, not by individual players.
