In Budget CM Siddaramaiah made big announcement. Ban on social media use for children under the age of sixteen years of age, In the backdrop of the increasing use of mobile phones affecting children and to prevent side effects, the use of social media has been banned for children aged 16 years.

The CM has announced in the budget that a qualified mental health counselor will be appointed in 204 BRC centers to relieve stress and improve mental health among students.

The total expenditure of the Karnataka state budget is set at Rs 4,48,004 crore, with a focus on technology-based growth, infrastructure development and environmental sustainability.

Presenting the budget, Siddaramaiah said that Karnataka plays a unique role in national and international trade and the rapid developments in artificial intelligence (AI) are transforming global production systems. He stressed that innovations in science and technology are increasingly shaping the trajectory of the state.

On this occasion, he said that the budget has been presented with responsibility and vision to move forward with the resolve to “convert fire into light”. The Chief Minister announced that social media will be banned for children under 16 years of age in Karnataka.

New courses in artificial intelligence and engineering launched in Karnataka polytechnics:

15 new courses in high-demand and employable fields like artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud computing, mining engineering and automation engineering will be launched in 11 government polytechnics and Chitradurga Government Engineering College.

KKRDB will set up residential first-grade colleges at Nimbarga (Kalaburagi), Kakkera (Yadgiri), Ambamath (Raichur), and Bevoor (Koppal) at a cost of Rs 18 crore each.
