LPG Gas Subsidy: Complete This Process by August 16 to Get Your Subsidy

The E-KYC process is being carried out to verify customers’ documents and connection details, update necessary information, and identify genuine beneficiaries.

Bengaluru: Have you not yet completed E-KYC for your household LPG gas connection? If so, it is advisable to complete the process without further delay. LPG distributors have advised domestic LPG consumers to complete their E-KYC by August 16.

The E-KYC process is being carried out to verify customers’ documents and connection details, update necessary information, and identify genuine beneficiaries. Consumers were previously given deadlines in March and April, and the deadline has now reportedly been extended again until August 16.

What happens if E-KYC is not completed? According to gas distributors, consumers who fail to complete the process even after the deadline could face difficulties with their LPG connection or cylinder supply. In some cases, their eligibility for subsidy benefits could also be affected.

At present, a domestic LPG cylinder available with subsidy may cost around Rs 945, while consumers without the subsidy could have to pay the market price, which may be around Rs 2,108. However, the actual price may vary depending on the customer’s connection and the applicable rules.

Consumers can complete their E-KYC by visiting their nearest authorized LPG gas agency. If the facility is available through the concerned oil company’s official website or mobile service, the process may also be completed online.

Consumers should also be cautious about unauthorized messages or links claiming to facilitate E-KYC. Do not share OTPs, Aadhaar details, bank information, or other personal data with anyone. It is safest to verify the deadline and E-KYC requirements through the Central Government, the concerned oil company, or an authorized LPG distributor before proceeding.
