DK Shivakumar Supporters Hold Chandika Homa for His CM Candidacy

Kunigal: In a fervent display of devotion and political aspiration, a significant gathering of DK Shivakumar supporters and Congress workers in Tumakuru district’s Kunigal taluk organized a Chandika Homa ceremony in Huliurudurg to pray for their leader to become the Chief Minister of Karnataka.

The event, held at the revered Huliuram temple, commenced early in the morning with a spirit of devotion and reverence, attracting hundreds of Congress members and Shivakumar enthusiasts.

Among those present at the ceremony were several notable figures, including Prakash, the President of Huliurudurg Panchayat, and the heads of various Congress wings, such as Madhu from VSSSN and Santosh from the Youth Congress.

Panchayat member Nagesh along with other leaders actively participated in the rituals, invoking blessings for Shivakumar’s political ascension. The town was adorned with banners and flex boards carrying the message “DKShivakumar for CM,” reflecting the fervent hopes of his supporters.

MLA Ranganath, who also participated in the Homa, spoke about the spiritual significance of the Huliuramma temple, calling it a place of immense power. He recounted how former Chief Minister S M Krishna had previously visited the temple to receive blessings, emphasizing the tradition of seeking divine favor for political leaders.

Ranganath stated that this Homa was performed with the intent not just for Shivakumar but for all Congress leaders, including current Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, to experience success.

The Navachandika Yagna conducted during the ceremony is described as a powerful ritual aimed at invoking the strength of nine goddesses, symbolizing unity and strength within the party. Ranganath articulated the purpose behind the Homa, stating that it was organized with the hope of revitalizing party dynamics and fostering solidarity among members.

When questioned about the potential political gains for DKShivakumar from the Homa, Ranganath advised against delving into political specifics, emphasizing that he is merely a disciplined soldier of the Congress party.

He conveyed a simple message: “May good fortune come to DKShivakumar, Siddaramaiah, and the entire Congress party.” This marks a significant development amid ongoing discussions about a possible change in leadership within the party.

Just a month earlier, Ranganath had openly expressed the view that “DKShivakumar should become the CM,” which led to an official notice issued to him regarding the sensitivity of such statements during a time of intense speculation around leadership discussions.

The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) has expressed concerns over Ranganath’s statements, describing them as potentially damaging to party cohesion. The notice to Ranganath was issued under the direction of Party President DK Shivakumar, reflecting the delicate balance of unity and strategic positioning within the Congress party as it navigates its future amidst evolving political scenarios.

As the political landscape continues to shift, the prayers offered during the Chandika Homa may resonate deeply among party supporters, marking a moment of hope and determination for those advocating for DKShivakumar’s rise in Karnataka politics.
