Bengaluru: Minister Priyank Kharge has launched a sharp attack on the BJP, alleging large-scale voter data manipulation. “We had already warned that BJP was engaging in voter fraud. Now it’s coming out publicly — ₹80 was paid to delete one vote,” Kharge said, taking a direct dig at the opposition.
Speaking to reporters in Vidhana Soudha, Kharge said, “The SIT probe into the Aland files case is still ongoing. It may take another week or ten days to complete. Several pieces of evidence have surfaced. Once the documentation is ready, we will submit everything to the Election Commission. This is not just about Aland; it’s about the integrity of the entire electoral system.”
Criticizing the Election Commission, Kharge added, “They say it’s a free and fair election — but where is the freedom, and where is the fairness, if votes can be bought and deleted for money? The Election Commission must answer this.”
Supporting Kharge’s remarks, Minister M.B. Patil said, “Now we understand what Rahul Gandhi meant when he raised concerns earlier. Evidence is coming out — ₹80 per deleted vote. Every time we asked for proof, they questioned us. Now, will the BJP and the Election Commission provide an affidavit in response? This is not a November revolution; this is an Election Commission revolution,” he said, in a biting remark.
The allegations have intensified the political battle between the Congress and BJP in Karnataka, with the ruling party accusing the opposition of undermining democracy through digital manipulation of voter data.
