Karnataka Government Announces Bus Pass Fee Refund for Students Application Process Begins June 29

The Karnataka government has announced refund of bus pass fees paid by students across state transport corporations with applications opening on June 29 through Seva Sindhu portal and refunds to be credited directly within a week after verification.

The Karnataka government has once again brought relief for students by issuing a new order regarding the refund of bus pass fees. After earlier announcing free bus passes, the state has now decided to return the amount already paid by students during the application process. This move is expected to benefit thousands of students across the state.

According to the official order, all four major state transport corporations including KSRTC, BMTC, NWKRTC and KKRTC have been instructed to process the refund. The decision ensures that students who had already paid for bus passes before the free scheme was implemented will get their money back without any delay.

The application process for the refund will begin on June 29. Eligible students can apply through the Seva Sindhu portal, which has been designated as the official platform for submission. Authorities have made it clear that only applications submitted through this online system will be considered for processing.

Students will need to complete OTP based registration while applying. They are also required to provide accurate bank account details to ensure smooth transfer of funds. Officials have stressed that even small errors in bank information could lead to delays or issues in receiving the refund.

Once applications are submitted, they will be verified by the concerned authorities. After successful verification, the refunded amount will be directly credited to the student’s bank account through NEFT or RTGS within seven days, according to the transport department guidelines.

Transport officials have also issued a cautionary note asking students to double check their bank details before submitting the application. The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation has highlighted that incorrect information may result in failed transactions or unnecessary delays in the refund process.

The decision has been widely welcomed as a continuation of the government’s focus on student welfare. With both free bus pass benefits and refund of previously paid fees, the initiative is expected to reduce financial pressure on students who depend on public transport for daily travel.

As the application window opens, students across Karnataka are advised to complete the process early to avoid last minute issues and ensure timely receipt of their refunded amount.
