Karkala Parashurama Statue Case: Congress leader Muniyalu Uday Kumar Shetty has filed a public interest petition in the court demanding the reposition of the Parashurama statue at Parashuram theme Park.
The Parashurama Theme Park issue in Karkala, Udupi district, remains a significant controversy, primarily centered on allegations of fraud and irregularities in the construction of the central Parashurama statue.

Uday Kumar Shetty contested as a Congress candidate from Karkala in the last assembly election. There was irregularity at the Parashuram theme park, had alleged that the statue of Parashuram was made of fiber.
Detailed chargesheet of 1,231 pages has been filed by the Karkala Town police in the Senior Civil Judge and Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate court in Karkala. This occurred around July 14-16, 2025.

Krishna Naik (sculptor)
Arun Kumar (Project Director of Udupi District Nirmiti Kendra)
Sachin Y. Kumar (Engineer at Nirmiti Kendra)
They are charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including criminal conspiracy (120B), criminal breach of trust (409), cheating (420), and causing disappearance of evidence (201).
