Dharmasthala Case Big Update: The Dharmasthala crimes investigation indicate that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has begun its work and is actively inspecting alleged burial sites. Dharmasthala Case Big Update: SIT finds blouse, ATM card, Pan, bag in first spot!.

According to the Blrpost.com report, The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the Dharmasthala mass burial case has found a torn red blouse, an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) card, a PAN card, a bag, and other materials at the first spot dug up on Tuesday. These items have been sealed and preserved for further investigation.

Blrpost.com also reports that the red blouse and other items were found at a depth of 2.5 feet, prompting deeper excavation. The team eventually dug down to 8 feet by 6 feet at the first site. One of the recovered cards bears the name ‘Lakshmi’. These findings were made within two hours of commencing the dig. The SIT did not find any human skeletal remains in this spot.

The SIT was constituted by the Karnataka government in response to public pressure and the serious nature of the allegations. It is being led by DGP Pronab Mohanty, Director General of Police (Internal Security Division) and Cyber Command.

Other key members include DIG M.N. Anucheth (Deputy Inspector General of Police, Recruitment) and SP Jithendra Kumar Dayama (Superintendent of Police, Internal Security Division), who is also the chief investigating officer. The team comprises around 20 police personnel from various units in the Western range (Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Uttara Kannada districts).

The SIT has reportedly identified a total of 13 sites for exhumation based on the whistleblower’s testimony. The process is ongoing, and the team will now proceed to investigate the other identified spots.

Forensic scientists and Scene-of-Crime Officers (SOCO) are present at every stage of the exhumation process to ensure scientific integrity and proper collection of evidence if any remains are found. The entire process is being videographed.
