Here’s a breakdown of why this is crucial and how beneficiaries can comply:

Why Aadhaar-Bank Linkage and e-KYC are Compulsory:

Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT): The PM-KISAN scheme aims to directly transfer financial assistance to eligible farmers’ bank accounts. Aadhaar seeding ensures that the payment goes to the correct and verified beneficiary.

Transparency and Fraud Prevention: e-KYC helps confirm the identity of genuine beneficiaries, eliminating middlemen and preventing fraudulent claims.

Streamlined Process: Once e-KYC and Aadhaar linkage are done, the process for subsequent installments becomes smoother.

The Upcoming Installment (20th Installment):

Based on the four-month cycle, the 20th installment of the PM-KISAN scheme is anticipated to be disbursed soon, potentially in late June or early July 2025. While an official date hasn’t been confirmed by the government, preparations are in the final stages.

How to Ensure You Receive the Next Payment:

Complete e-KYC: This is the most critical step. There are several ways to do this:

Online (OTP-based e-KYC):

Visit the official PM-KISAN portal: pmkisan.gov.in

Click on the ‘e-KYC’ option under ‘Farmers Corner’.

Enter your Aadhaar number.

An OTP will be sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.

Enter the OTP to complete the verification.

Biometric-based e-KYC:

Visit your nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) or State Seva Kendra (SSK).

Provide your Aadhaar number and authenticate using your fingerprint or iris scan.

The CSC operator will assist you. This is useful if your mobile number is not linked to Aadhaar.

Face Authentication-based e-KYC (via PM-KISAN Mobile App):

Download the PM-KISAN Mobile App and the Aadhaar Face RD app from the Google Play Store.

Open the PM-KISAN app and log in with your registered mobile number.

Go to the Beneficiary Status section. If e-KYC status is “No,” click on ‘e-KYC’.

Enter your Aadhaar number and allow the app to scan your face for authentication.

Aadhaar-Bank Account Linkage: Ensure your bank account is linked (seeded) with your Aadhaar number. Payments are made through Aadhaar-enabled payment systems. You can usually do this by:

Visiting your bank branch with your Aadhaar card.

Using your bank’s internet banking or mobile banking portal (if the option is available).

Verify Land Records: Make sure your land records are accurate and updated on the PM-KISAN portal.

Check Beneficiary Status: Regularly check your beneficiary status on the PM-KISAN official website (pmkisan.gov.in) under the “Farmers Corner” section. You can use your Aadhaar number, account number, or mobile number to check the status. This will help you identify any issues that might be preventing you from receiving the installment.

Important Note on Deadlines:

While the government often emphasizes completing these formalities, a specific final deadline for the 20th installment’s e-KYC hasn’t been officially announced. However, it is strongly advised to complete the e-KYC process and ensure Aadhaar-bank linkage as soon as possible to avoid any delays in receiving your payment.

Many sources indicated a “Saturation Drive” until May 31, 2025, to ensure all eligible farmers are covered for the upcoming installment. By taking these steps, PM Kisan beneficiaries can ensure a smooth and timely receipt of their financial assistance.
