While there have been local alerts and news reports suggesting deadlines like June 30, 2025 (or even earlier dates like May 31, 2024, in previous reports), the minister has clarified that the e-KYC is an ongoing process aimed at:

Eliminating bogus accounts: To ensure that subsidies and cylinders reach genuine beneficiaries.

Preventing fraudulent booking: Especially for commercial cylinders against domestic connections.

Key points from the official clarifications:

No deadline: Hardeep Singh Puri explicitly stated that there is no deadline for this activity.
Mandatory for Ujjwala and PAHAL beneficiaries: e-KYC is crucial for those availing subsidies under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) and Pratyaksh Hanstantrit Labh (PAHAL) schemes.

Multiple ways to complete e-KYC:

During delivery: LPG delivery personnel can assist with biometric authentication using their mobile app at your doorstep.

At distributor showrooms: You can visit your gas agency.

Through mobile apps: Use the official apps of your respective oil marketing company (Indane, HP Gas, Bharat Gas) to complete the e-KYC online (often involves face recognition through an RD app).

No “mustering” at showrooms: The minister also clarified that there is no requirement for customers to gather at showrooms for e-KYC.

Even though there’s no strict deadline, it is highly recommended to complete your LPG e-KYC as soon as possible. This will ensure:

Uninterrupted supply: Avoid any potential issues with receiving your cylinder refills.
