Lenovo Yoga Tab Gen 2 Series Launches With 4K 144Hz Displays

Lenovo has expanded its premium Android tablet lineup with two new models at IFA 2026. The company has introduced the Yoga Tab Gen 2 and Yoga Tab Plus Gen 2, bringing high resolution displays, powerful hardware and several productivity focused features to the series.

One of the biggest talking points is Lenovo’s software commitment. Both tablets arrive with Android 17 and are promised seven major Android OS upgrades along with seven years of security updates. Based on the announced policy, the tablets could receive major Android updates up to Android 24, while security support could continue until 2033.

The standard Yoga Tab Gen 2 is designed around an 11.1 inch 4K display. The panel supports a 144Hz refresh rate and can reach a peak brightness of 1100 nits. The combination of high resolution and fast refresh rate should make the tablet suitable for watching videos, playing games and handling creative tasks.

Lenovo has equipped the smaller model with the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset. Buyers can choose between 8GB and 12GB RAM, while storage options include 128GB and 256GB. The tablet also supports a microSD card, giving users the option to expand storage when required.

Battery capacity is another important feature of the Yoga Tab Gen 2. The tablet comes with an 11000mAh battery and supports 68W fast charging. Despite the large battery, the device weighs around 480 grams and measures 8.56mm in thickness.

Connectivity has also received an upgrade, with the tablet supporting Wi Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0 and USB C 3.2 Gen 1. These features give the device faster wireless connectivity and a modern wired connection for compatible accessories and peripherals.

For users looking for a larger screen, Lenovo is also offering the Yoga Tab Plus Gen 2. This model features a much larger 13 inch 4K PureSight Pro display. It also supports a 144Hz refresh rate and reaches up to 1100 nits of peak brightness.

Performance on the Plus model is handled by the Snapdragon 8 Elite platform with an Oryon CPU. Lenovo offers 12GB and 16GB RAM configurations, while storage goes up to 512GB, with a 256GB option also available.

The larger tablet gets a 12700mAh battery and supports the same 68W charging standard. Lenovo has also focused on audio, equipping the Yoga Tab Plus Gen 2 with a six speaker setup.

The camera hardware includes a 13MP primary rear camera accompanied by a 2MP sensor. On the front, users get an 8MP camera along with a 0.3MP sensor. While tablets are not usually purchased primarily for photography, the setup should cover video calls, scanning and basic image capture.

Lenovo is also positioning the new Yoga Tab models as productivity and creative devices rather than tablets meant only for entertainment. Both models support the Lenovo Tab Pen Pro 2 stylus, allowing users to take notes, draw and work on creative projects. A magnetic keyboard accessory is also supported for users who want a more traditional typing experience.

Another unusual addition is the status light placed on the rear of the tablets. Lenovo says it can react to content during activities such as music playback, video viewing and gaming, adding a visual element to the overall experience.

The long software support period could become one of the most attractive reasons to consider the new tablets. Seven major Android upgrades is a significant commitment for a tablet, particularly for buyers who plan to keep their device for several years. The extended security support also means users can continue receiving security improvements well beyond the initial launch period.

In terms of pricing, the Lenovo Yoga Tab Gen 2 starts at 729 dollars, which is approximately Rs 68,800. The Yoga Tab Plus Gen 2 carries a starting price of 999 dollars, equivalent to around Rs 94,400.

Both tablets are expected to go on sale from September 2026 in selected markets. Lenovo has not yet provided official details about Indian pricing or the India launch timeline. More information about regional availability is expected as the company begins rolling out the new Yoga Tab models.
