TCL P80 And P80 Pro Launched With 120Hz Display And 50MP Camera

TCL has added two new smartphones to its P80 lineup, introducing the TCL P80 and TCL P80 Pro in international markets. The new models sit alongside the existing P80 Ultra and bring different hardware features aimed at users with varying priorities.

The standard TCL P80 focuses on performance and display specifications, while the P80 Pro adds the companys NxtPaper technology. Both phones come with 8GB of RAM, 50MP main cameras and 120Hz displays, although their internal hardware and camera arrangements are not identical.

The P80 starts at EUR 349, which is approximately Rs 38,500, for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage model. The 256GB version is priced at EUR 379, or around Rs 41,500. The phone is available in Midnight Blue and Sunlight Gold.

The TCL P80 Pro starts at EUR 429, approximately Rs 47,000, for its 8GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration. The 512GB version costs EUR 499, around Rs 55,000. It is also offered in Midnight Blue and Sunlight Gold.

TCL P80 Gets A Large 120Hz Display

The TCL P80 features a 6.83 inch display with a resolution of 2772 by 1280 pixels. The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate and can reach a quoted peak brightness of 3200 nits.

TCL has also included a 2560Hz touch response rate, which is designed to make touch interactions feel more responsive. Unlike the P80 Pro, however, the standard P80 does not feature the companys NxtPaper display technology.

Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Elite chipset. It comes with 8GB of RAM and offers up to 256GB of storage.

The camera setup includes a 50MP primary sensor with both OIS and EIS support. TCL has also added ultrawide and telephoto cameras to the rear camera system, giving users more flexibility when taking different types of photographs.

Battery capacity stands at 5000mAh, with support for 45W fast charging. The phone also carries an IP68 rating for protection against dust and water exposure.

For audio, TCL has equipped the P80 with stereo speakers and DTS support, adding a more immersive sound option for videos, music and other content.

TCL P80 Pro Brings NxtPaper Display

The P80 Pro takes a different approach with TCLs NxtPaper technology. The company has designed this display technology to provide a more comfortable viewing experience and give the screen an appearance that is closer to an electronic reading device in certain modes.

The display also includes an anti glare feature, which can help reduce reflections under bright lighting conditions. TCL says the technology can also reduce blue light, making the screen more suitable for users who spend considerable time reading.

The P80 Pro retains the 6.83 inch screen size and offers a 120Hz refresh rate with up to 3200 nits peak brightness.

Performance comes from the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Elite chipset. The phone offers 8GB of RAM and storage options reaching up to 512GB, giving buyers more space for applications, photographs and videos.

Different Camera Approach On The Pro Model

The TCL P80 Pro has a 50MP main camera accompanied by an 8MP ultrawide camera. Unlike the standard P80, TCL has not included a dedicated telephoto camera on the Pro model.

This means the two phones take a different approach to rear photography. The P80 offers a broader camera arrangement with a telephoto lens, while the P80 Pro places more emphasis on its display technology and overall user experience.

Longer Software Support

Software support is another area where TCL is giving the P80 Pro a longer commitment. The company promises three years of operating system upgrades and seven years of security updates for the device.
