144Hz AMOLED Display With High Brightness

The Edge 70 Plus features a 6.78 inch Extreme AMOLED display with a Super HD resolution of 2772 by 1272 pixels. The panel supports a 144Hz refresh rate, making scrolling and supported animations appear smoother.

Motorola has also highlighted the screens brightness, with a quoted peak level of up to 5200 nits. The display supports HDR10 Plus, 10 bit colour and full DCI P3 coverage.

Protection has not been overlooked either. The screen is covered by Gorilla Glass 7i, while the overall device carries MIL STD 810H durability certification. The phone also comes with an IP64 rating for protection against dust and water exposure.

Snapdragon Processor And Expandable Storage

Performance comes from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset. It is paired with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

Motorola also provides support for up to 24GB of virtual RAM, allowing additional memory to be allocated through the phones storage when required. Storage can reportedly be expanded up to 1TB using a microSD card.

The Edge 70 Plus runs Android 16 out of the box. Motorola has promised five years of security updates, giving the device software security support through 2031.

200MP Main Camera Takes Centre Stage

Photography is another major highlight of the Edge 70 Plus. The phone features a 200MP primary rear camera with optical image stabilisation.

The main camera is accompanied by a 2MP macro sensor and a dedicated light sensor. While the camera arrangement is designed to offer additional photography functions, the 200MP main sensor remains the key camera feature of the device.

For selfies and video calls, Motorola has included a 32MP front facing camera.

6500mAh Battery And 45W Charging

Battery capacity is one of the strongest specifications of the Edge 70 Plus. The phone carries a 6500mAh battery and supports 45W TurboPower fast charging.

Motorola has also included 7.5W wired reverse charging, allowing the phone to provide power to compatible accessories and other devices.

According to the company, the smartphone can deliver up to 61 hours of battery backup. Actual battery life can vary depending on network conditions, display settings, applications and usage patterns.

Connectivity And Security Features

The Edge 70 Plus comes with a range of modern connectivity options, including 5G, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC and eSIM support.

For biometric security, the smartphone uses an optical fingerprint sensor integrated into the display. The device also offers the protection provided by its IP64 rating.

With its combination of a 200MP main camera, large battery, 144Hz AMOLED display and Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, the Motorola Edge 70 Plus is positioned as a feature rich option in the premium smartphone segment.

The launch price of GBP 529.99 puts it above many mid range devices, but Motorola is adding extra value through the bundled Moto Watch Fit and Moto Tag 2. Buyers will also get the benefit of extended security support, which could make the phone more attractive to people planning to keep it for several years.
