Eight Arrested After Woman Abducted and Assaulted in Ranchi
A shocking incident in Ranchi has raised fresh concerns about women's safety after a young woman was allegedly abducted from her home and assaulted by multiple accused.
A disturbing incident reported from Ranchi in Jharkhand has sparked widespread concern over the safety of women in the region. Acting swiftly on the survivor’s complaint, police arrested eight accused persons and took a minor into custody in connection with the case.
According to investigators, the young woman had been living alone after a man she had been staying with left for Kerala about six weeks ago in search of employment. Police said the accused allegedly took advantage of the situation and targeted her while she was by herself.
The incident reportedly took place late on the night of June 5 in Karge village under the Mandar police station limits. Authorities said a group of men allegedly entered the area near her residence and forcibly took her away.
The survivor later informed police that she was taken to an isolated location near a riverbank, where she was allegedly assaulted by multiple individuals. She was reportedly left at the location the following morning before the accused fled the scene.
Despite being under severe emotional distress, the woman managed to reach the Mandar police station and file a complaint. Her statement prompted an immediate response from law enforcement agencies.
Considering the seriousness of the allegations, Ranchi police formed a special investigation team under the supervision of senior officers. Personnel from multiple police stations, including Mandar, Chanho, Budhmu and Thakurgaon, participated in coordinated search operations.
Using technical evidence and information provided during the investigation, police tracked down the suspects within hours. Officials confirmed that eight accused individuals were arrested, while a minor was also detained for questioning and legal proceedings under applicable laws.
Authorities stated that the investigation is continuing and additional evidence is being examined. The incident has triggered strong reactions from local residents, with many demanding strict action and speedy justice in the case.
