Etawah Man Arrested After Admitting He Threatened Wife to Visit Central Jail
Police in Uttar Pradesh were left stunned after a man confessed he intimidated his wife with a gun solely because he wanted to spend time inside prison.

An unusual case in Uttar Pradesh’s Etawah district has attracted attention after a man allegedly committed a criminal act simply to fulfill his desire to visit a central jail.
Police said the accused, Komal, threatened his wife with a country made firearm before walking into a police station and surrendering the weapon. Officers immediately seized the gun and ammunition and began legal proceedings.
The incident did not stem from a family dispute, according to the accused. During interactions with police and later with journalists, he reportedly said he had always been curious about the Etawah Central Jail and wanted to experience life behind bars.
Authorities registered a case against him and launched an investigation. He was later taken for a medical examination before being presented in court as part of the legal process.
The accused maintained that he shared a normal relationship with his wife and that there were no serious disagreements between them. He claimed his actions were driven entirely by his wish to enter the prison rather than by domestic issues.
His comments became widely shared online after videos from the hospital surfaced on social media platforms. The footage drew strong reactions from users, many of whom described the explanation as strange and difficult to understand.
While some people speculated that the man may require psychological evaluation, others pointed out that threatening someone with a firearm is a serious offence regardless of the motive. The incident has since become a topic of discussion across social media due to its unusual circumstances.
