Xiaomi unveils Robot Vacuum and Mop 6 with smarter cleaning and obstacle detection

Xiaomi introduces a new affordable robot vacuum in China featuring powerful suction intelligent obstacle recognition improved mopping system and smart home integration aimed at delivering efficient automated cleaning for modern households

Xiaomi has expanded its smart home lineup with the launch of the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum and Mop 6 in China, bringing a mix of upgraded cleaning features and intelligent navigation to a more accessible price segment. The new model is designed to handle everyday cleaning tasks more efficiently while addressing some limitations seen in earlier versions.

One of the standout improvements is its enhanced cleaning mechanism. Xiaomi has replaced the traditional rotating mop pads with a roller style mopping system that continuously receives clean water during operation. A built in scraper collects dirt from the roller, helping prevent smudging and ensuring a more consistent cleaning result across different floor types.

The device is equipped with a powerful suction capability of up to 28000 Pa, making it suitable for picking up fine dust and debris, especially from carpets. To improve coverage, the robot uses a main brush along with extended side arms that help reach corners and edges more effectively, areas that are often missed by conventional robotic cleaners.

Navigation has also been upgraded with advanced camera based sensors that can recognize up to 220 different types of obstacles. This allows the vacuum to move around furniture and objects with greater precision. It can also climb over small barriers up to 40 mm, ensuring smoother movement across rooms. With a slim profile of 90 mm, the robot can easily clean under most furniture without getting stuck.

The accompanying docking station adds convenience by handling part of the maintenance work. It supports mop washing with hot water at temperatures up to 80 degrees Celsius and features a removable tray for easier cleaning. Like other Xiaomi smart devices, the vacuum can be controlled via a mobile app and integrated into a broader smart home ecosystem for remote operation and scheduling.

Priced at CNY 2699 in China, roughly equivalent to 36630 rupees, the product is currently limited to the domestic market. Xiaomi has not yet announced plans for a global rollout, but the feature set suggests it could appeal to a wider audience if introduced internationally.

With a focus on smarter automation and practical upgrades, Xiaomi’s latest robot vacuum reflects the growing demand for intelligent home cleaning solutions that balance performance and affordability.
