iQOO Buds Bring Long Battery Life to India
iQOO has added a new pair of budget TWS earbuds to its Indian portfolio alongside the iQOO Z11 smartphone. Called iQOO Buds, the new earbuds focus on everyday listening, gaming and clearer phone calls without pushing the price too high.
The earbuds are priced at Rs 1899 in India. Customers using eligible bank cards can receive an instant cashback of Rs 200, bringing the effective price down to Rs 1699. The first sale is scheduled for August 24 at 12 noon through Amazon.
iQOO is offering the Buds in a single Flame Yellow colour option. The in ear design comes with silicone tips, while the pebble shaped charging case is designed to provide additional battery backup when the earbuds are not in use.
Sound is handled by 10mm moving coil drivers. The earbuds support AAC and SBC codecs, along with DeepX 4.0 sound effects and spatial audio. They offer a frequency range of 20Hz to 20000Hz.
Calls are another area where iQOO has focused attention. The Buds feature a dual microphone setup and AI based call noise reduction, which is designed to keep voices clearer when there is surrounding noise.
For connectivity, the earbuds use Bluetooth 6.1 and support Dual Channel Transmission 2.0. The company claims an open area connection range of up to 10 metres and gaming latency as low as 42ms. Android users also get quick pairing support.
The earbuds carry an IP54 rating for protection against dust and water splashes. Touch controls support gestures such as double tap, triple tap and touch and hold, allowing users to manage playback and other functions without reaching for their phone.
Battery life is one of the biggest selling points. Each earbud has a 53mAh battery, while the charging case houses a 525mAh battery. iQOO claims up to 12 hours of playback from the earbuds alone and up to 50 hours when the charging case is included.
A quick charge can also be useful for users in a hurry. According to the company, a 10 minute charge can provide up to four hours of music playback. The earbuds take around one hour to reach a full charge, while the case can take up to two hours.
The charging case measures 63 by 47.76 by 28.06mm and weighs about 41.3 grams.
iQOO TWS 5e Also Introduced in China
Alongside its Indian launch, iQOO has also expanded its audio lineup in China with the iQOO TWS 5e. This model sits at a higher level and adds features such as active noise cancellation and enhanced audio controls.
The iQOO TWS 5e is priced at 149 yuan, roughly Rs 1800. It is available in Electric White and Sharp Yellow colours.
Unlike the Indian iQOO Buds, the TWS 5e uses 11mm high resolution drivers and supports AAC, SBC and LC3 codecs. It also includes Monster Sound gaming audio and DeepX 3.0 stereo effects with different sound profiles focused on vocals, bass and treble.
The TWS 5e offers up to 35dB intelligent active noise cancellation. AI call noise reduction and wind noise reduction are also included to improve voice quality during calls.
Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity allows the TWS 5e to connect with two devices at the same time. The earbuds also support wear detection, touch controls and gaming latency of up to 42ms.
Compatible iQOO and Vivo devices can access additional features through the BlueOS ecosystem. These include remote camera control, real time translation, caller ID announcements, earbud finding and software updates.
Each TWS 5e earbud can reportedly deliver up to 11.5 hours of playback, while the total listening time with the charging case can reach 50 hours with ANC switched off. The case charges through USB Type C and the earbuds carry an IP54 rating.
