Bengaluru: In a major political development in the state, the Honourable Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, U.T. Khader, has officially tendered his resignation. Sources confirmed that he stepped down from the speaker’s chair to assume a ministerial position in the newly formed Congress government.

With this move, it is now absolutely certain that the party high command has chosen to elevate this influential leader from the coastal region into the new cabinet. During the previous term, U.T. Khader earned widespread acclaim for running the house smoothly and gracefully as the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly.

However, there was immense internal party pressure to utilize his experience in a key ministerial role this time around. Following a series of marathon meetings in Delhi, U.T. Khader officially submitted his resignation today, acting on clear directives from the party high command.

As the most prominent and senior face of the Congress party in Coastal Karnataka, inducting U.T. Khader into the cabinet became an absolute necessity for the party. Khader brings vast administrative experience to the table, having successfully handled major portfolios as a minister in both the previous Siddaramaiah and coalition governments.

To balance the regional and social equations of the cabinet, the high command strategically moved him from the Speaker’s chair into the ministerial lineup. According to reliable sources, U.T. Khader is scheduled to take the oath of office as a minister alongside the Chief Minister today.

Following U.T. Khader’s resignation, the hunt has begun for another senior leader to fill the prestigious position of Speaker. While speculation is rife over whom the high command will entrust with this responsibility, the entire state is equally anxious to see which major portfolio will be allocated to the newly designated minister, U.T. Khader.
