Major Overhaul of KPCC by AICC: Observers Appointed To Replace All District Presidents
According to party sources, the Congress leadership is keen to reward loyal and dedicated workers who have consistently strengthened the organisation, rather than giving importance to recommendations or pressure from influential leaders.

The Congress high command has initiated a major organisational overhaul in the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), aiming to strengthen the party at the grassroots level by replacing all district Congress presidents across the state.
To accelerate the ambitious restructuring exercise, the All-India Congress Committee (AICC) has already appointed special observers to oversee the selection process.
Leadership Revamp to Begin from the Grassroots:
Unlike previous exercises, the Congress high command has adopted a new approach this time. Instead of making appointments solely from Bengaluru, the newly appointed AICC observers will personally visit every district to assess the local political situation.
During their visits, the observers will interact with local leaders, MLAs, MPs, and grassroots party workers to gather feedback. Based on these field reports, the high command will prepare the final list of new district Congress presidents.
According to party sources, the Congress leadership is keen to reward loyal and dedicated workers who have consistently strengthened the organisation, rather than giving importance to recommendations or pressure from influential leaders.
A high-level meeting chaired by AICC General Secretary K.C. Venugopal is scheduled to be held in New Delhi on July 24, where the observers’ reports are expected to be reviewed before the final decisions are made.
Once the process of appointing new district presidents is completed, the Congress high command is expected to move to the next phase by restructuring the KPCC’s state-level leadership. The party is likely to introduce fresh faces as KPCC vice-presidents and general secretaries as part of a broader strategy to energise the organisation and strengthen it ahead of upcoming elections.
