In the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections, the BJP aims to return to power after over two decades, while the AAP strives for a third consecutive term. Delhi Election Results: BJP lead, Dalit leader Delhi new CM.
If BJP won Delhi election like present trend, the question of who will lead the government becomes crucial. From senior leaders to new faces, there are several contenders in the BJP for the post of Chief Minister. The final decision depends on caste representation, seniority and political strategy.

BJP national general secretary and Dalit leader Dushyant Gautam is one of the prominent names in the race. He is contesting from the Karol Bagh reserved seat against AAP’s three-time MLA Vishsh Ravi. Gautam served as a Rajya Sabha MP and was active in student politics.
Although he lost elections from Kondli earlier in 2008 and 2013, his senior position in the party and Dalit representation made him a strong contender. Another prominent name is Parvesh Verma, son of former Delhi Chief Minister Sahib Singh Verma. He is contesting from the high-profile New Delhi constituency against AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal.
If Kejriwal succeeds in defeating him, he will emerge as a ‘giant killer’ and a natural choice for the post of CM. His Jat background makes him a crucial player in BJP’s political calculations. Along with Verma, former Delhi CM Madan Lal Khurana’s son Harish Khurana is also in the fray.

He is contesting from Moti Nagar and may be considered if BJP is looking for a legacy leader. Rekha Gupta and Shikha Rai are two prominent names for women CM. Former MCD councilor and Delhi University student union president Rekha is contesting from Shalimar Bagh constituency in 2020.
On the other hand, Shikha Rai is contesting from Greater Kailash against AAP’s Saurabh Bhardwaj. If the BJP decides to elect a woman leader, one of them may enter the fray.
