BJP runs a factory of lies; Modi and Shah are principals of deceit: Ramalinga Reddy

Vijayapura : Karnataka Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy launched a scathing attack on the BJP on Friday, branding it as a “party of deceivers” and accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah of being the “principals” of a factory of lies.

Speaking to reporters in Vijayapura, Reddy said, “BJP leaders are experts at spreading falsehoods. They thrive on misinformation and manipulation.”

Responding to speculation about leadership change in the state, Reddy clarified that the matter rests entirely with the Congress high command. “Whatever Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has stated on the issue reflects my stand as well,” he said.

The minister dismissed BJP’s allegations that the government was bringing private temples under the purview of the Muzrai Department. “It’s a deliberate attempt to mislead the public. There is no such move,” he asserted.

Reddy outlined several initiatives being implemented by the Transport Department to enhance passenger safety, including installing emergency exit gates and enforcing strict measures against vehicle overloading. “We are also addressing the staff shortage in the department. Recruitment for 75 new posts is underway,” he said.

He added that steps are being taken to seize vehicles registered in other states such as Maharashtra and Puducherry that operate illegally in Karnataka.

On the long-standing issue of KSRTC employees’ allowances, Reddy said, “The matter lies within the department’s jurisdiction. Once resolved, most of the problems faced by workers will be addressed. I will discuss this issue with the Chief Minister again to find a lasting solution.”

Highlighting infrastructure expansion, he announced that Vijayapura will soon receive 66 new buses as part of a larger plan to provide 200 new vehicles. “The procurement process was delayed due to the pandemic, but tenders are now being finalized,” he explained.

He also said discussions were underway to establish a new KSRTC depot at Chadachana in the Nagthan constituency, following requests from local representatives.
