BJP ban Basangouda Patil Yatnal: In a major development in Karnataka politics Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) expels MLA Basangouda Patil Yatnal for 6 years over ‘anti-party’ remarks.
Despite being issued a show cause notice by the BJP disciplinary committee twice, he repeatedly engaged in anti-party activities and violated party discipline. Yatnal finally responded to the show cause notice on February 10.
The Central Disciplinary Committee, which did not agree with Yatnal’s answer and clarification, took this decision today (March 26). With this, the high command has finally put a stop to the factional fighting in the state BJP and has also sent an indirect warning message to other rebel leaders.
They were openly making allegations against BJP state president BY Vijayendra and senior leader BS Yediyurappa. They were also forming their own team and holding separate meetings. The Central Disciplinary Committee had issued a show cause notice in this regard.
