Tention in Belagavi Boarder: Karnataka suspends bus services to Maharashtra

Tention in Belagavi Boarder: The winter session has begun in Belagavi from today, and MES and Shiv Sena leaders have unleashed their tails on the first day of the session. Even in Karnataka, there was an unsuccessful attempt to hold a mass rally against the session by raising anti-Kannada slogans.

As a result, the situation has become tense on the Karnataka-Maharashtra border. The Belagavi district administration has put a brake on the plan of MES and Shiv Sena activists who intended to join the vaccine depot.

The police immediately detained them as they approached the vaccine depot one by one. In the meantime, some hooligan leaders shouted anti-national slogans, while others sat on the road and staged a hydrama.

However, the police, who did not give a green light to any of this, detained the hooligans. As soon as the matter came to light, the Karave activists were furious and tried to enter the vaccine depot. The police stopped them midway, and an argument also broke out.

In response to the police stopping the MES Mahamela in Belagavi, Shiv Sena Uddhav Thackeray faction activists showed hooliganism by stopping state government buses in Kolhapur and pasting stickers with the words ‘Jai Maharashtra’ on them. Karave activists stopped Maharashtra buses in Athani. They retaliated by writing ‘Jai Karnataka’ on the buses in white.

Following these escalating incidents and concerns over the safety of passengers and transport staff, both the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) and Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) have reportedly suspended or curtailed services along the border. This is a precautionary measure often taken during periods of heightened tension in the region.
