Red Fort Blast Suspect’ Dr Umar Nabi s house Demolished in Pulwama; Six Arrested

NEW DELHI/SRINAGAR: Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir have demolished the house of Dr. Umar Nabi, the suspected key operative behind the powerful car blast near Delhi’s historic Red Fort, officials confirmed today. The demolition operation took place overnight in Pulwama district of South Kashmir.

Dr. Umar Nabi is believed to be the individual who detonated the explosive-laden car near the Red Fort on November 10, an incident that tragically claimed the lives of 12 people and left several others injured.

Overnight Operation Confirms Suspect’s Identity

Following the blast, Jammu and Kashmir Police launched an intensive, multi-location raid overnight. This operation led to the arrest of six individuals, including three members of Dr. Umar Nabi’s family.

The crucial breakthrough in the investigation came through forensic evidence. DNA samples collected from the blast site were processed and reportedly matched with the DNA samples taken from Umar Nabi’s mother, conclusively confirming his identity as the individual inside the car. Investigating officers have also confirmed that Umar was alone in the vehicle at the time of the explosion.

Dr. Nabi’s House Razed Amid Tight Security

The decision to demolish the suspect’s house in Pulwama comes as security forces intensify their efforts to dismantle terror infrastructure in the region. The operation was carried out late at night under heavy security cover, underscoring the seriousness with which the authorities are treating the Red Fort attack, which has significant national security implications.

The swift action—from forensic identification to the demolition of the suspect’s property and the mass arrests—signals a firm response from the security apparatus to the terror attack in the capital.

The police are continuing their interrogation of the six arrested individuals to uncover the complete network, the source of the explosives, and the exact motive behind the targeted act of terror near a high-value national landmark. The focus now shifts to determining if Dr. Nabi acted alone or was part of a larger, organized terror cell with links outside the region.
