AAP MP Raghav Chadha joins BJP as predicted in major Delhi political shift
Raghav Chadha joins BJP along with AAP MPs Ashok Mittal and Sandeep Pathak after resigning, triggering a major political shift and raising questions over internal rift in AAP leadership

In a development that many had anticipated, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha has officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party, confirming earlier signals of a widening rift within the Aam Aadmi Party.
The move comes just days after AAP removed Chadha from his official role in the Rajya Sabha, citing internal decisions. Within a short span, the prediction of his exit turned into reality, marking a significant moment in Delhi politics.
Chadha was not alone in this shift. Fellow Rajya Sabha MPs Ashok Mittal and Sandeep Pathak also resigned from AAP and joined the BJP on April 24. The simultaneous departure of three MPs has dealt a notable blow to the party led by Arvind Kejriwal.
Speaking to the media after joining the BJP, Chadha expressed dissatisfaction with his former party, stating that he felt he had not been in the right political space. He alleged that efforts were made within AAP to sideline him, which ultimately influenced his decision to leave.
He further stated that a significant section of AAP’s Rajya Sabha members had decided to merge with the BJP by following constitutional provisions. The move highlights growing internal disagreements within AAP and signals a shift in the political landscape at the national level.
